Buttercream Frosting
This frosting is saved for special occasions as it is very sweet, birthdays and cut out cookies. It frosts one 9 x 13 cake and freezes well.
Making the Frosting
Add butter and shortening. Cream well stopping to scrape sides and bottom.
Slowly and alternately add powdered sugar and a Tbsp. of milk until all is incorporated.
The frosting should be easy to spread. If it is too thick, add a little more milk or if it is too thick, add more powdered sugar.
